Reality Check: The Colorado Real Estate Market Returns To Its Normal Cycles

brandinord

There is a lot of confusion in today’s Colorado real estate market. Buyers think the market is crashing, and sellers believe there is still an unprecedented demand for homes. Both cases are just not true. In actuality, the market is getting back to the typical real estate cycles that occurred pre-pandemic. Megan Aller, Senior Data Analyst at 1st American Title, explains, “When the pandemic hit, people weren’t going out to buy homes. This created an overwhelming demand for homes. Therefore, showings and transactions went through the roof post-pandemic, which caused a completely abnormal real estate cycle.”

So, the best thing to do when dealing with today’s market is to give yourself a reality check. Do not look at the past or rely on unrealistic expectations when buying or selling a home. Take a really good look at the market, your location, and the home's condition when negotiating the price and concessions. By focusing on the here and now, you will have more success navigating today’s real estate market.
